Webflow prices in 2024: Free and paid plans explained

guidebook
Item title with category name and background Agency No Code style

Webflow's pricing starts at $18 per month for a static website for small businesses, while its general CMS plan costs $29 per month. There's also the Business plan, at $49 per month, as well as the Enterprise plan, which doesn't have a retail price. (Since Webflow prices are always displayed in dollars, the cost in euros may change.)

Webflow also offers a free lifetime plan to test the platform, but it's only really suitable for hobbyists who want to create a small website due to its limited bandwidth. In addition to the plans for creating websites, Webflow also offers three plans that focus on e-commerce, which sell for 42, 84, and 242 dollars per month respectively.

Unlike other website development software, you will also need to subscribe to a “Workspace” plan if you want to work as a freelance developer or as an agency, which in fact determines how many users you will be allowed. There is a free Starter plan for one user, as well as a range of paid plans for internal teams that allow for up to nine users, and an Enterprise plan that allows for unlimited users. Things can get a bit complicated, which is why we tried to present the options as clearly as possible in this article.

Webflow prices explained

Webflow's pricing structure is divided into two types of plans - site plans and workspace plans. To build and launch a functional and publicly accessible website, you need to buy a plan of each type.

Site plans are divided into “general” plans and e-commerce plans. General plans, as the name suggests, cover most websites, such as a business page, portfolio, blog, or news site. The Ecommerce plan is the one you should choose if you are considering creating an online store.

Workspace plans are divided into plans for internal teams and plans for freelancers and agencies. They essentially determine how many users can work on your site. There are four workspace plans for internal teams, the last of which has no user limit, and then three plans oriented towards freelancers and/or agencies.

Webflow plans Part 1: Site plans

As we mentioned, Webflow plans fall into two main categories: Workspace plans and site plans. You will need a plan for each category to create a website. Here, we're going to go through all of the available sitemaps, starting with sitemaps that aren't focused on e-commerce.

Standard site plans

Webflow offers five “standard” site plans that are not focused on e-commerce: Starter, Basic, CMS, Business, and Enterprise.

Starter plan

The Starter plan is Webflow's first plan, and it doesn't cost anything to use at all. It's only suitable for hobbyists, and while it's much more limited than the provider's paid plans, you'll still get:

  • 2 pages
  • 50 CMS elements
  • 50 form submissions (for life)
  • Free sample
  • 1 GB of bandwidth
  • 1k visitors
  • The big downside to this plan is the limit of 1K visitors and 1GB of bandwidth. You won't get a custom domain either, so your site address will have webflow.io permanently.

Basic plan

The Basic plan is the cheapest, costing $14 per month paid annually and $18 per month paid monthly. It is intended for those who want to operate a small, simple and static website on a custom domain, such as a work portfolio.

  • 150 pages
  • 500 form submissions (per month)
  • Free sample
  • 50 GB of bandwidth
  • 250k visitors
  • Bandwidth is capped at 50GB and traffic is capped at 250,000 visitors, which is not ideal, but a significant improvement over the limits imposed by the free Starter plan.

The CMS plan

The CMS plan costs $23 per month paid annually and $29 per month paid monthly. This plan supports three guest editors, which allows for some collaboration. Bandwidth is increased to 200GB and CMS items are allowed, although capped at 2,000. This is a good plan for bloggers and sites that generate traffic by producing lots of content:

  • 150 pages
  • 2,000 CMS elements
  • 1,000 form submissions (per month)
  • 3 content writers
  • Free preview
  • 200 GB of bandwidth
  • 250k visitors

Business Plan

The Business plan costs $39 per month paid annually and $49 per month paid monthly. With high levels of bandwidth and space for numerous content editors, this plan is a good fit for marketing sites that expect high and consistent levels of traffic (although there is always a cap).

  • 150 pages
  • 10k CMS items
  • 2.5k form submissions (per month)
  • 10 content writers
  • Search on the site
  • Uploading form files
  • Free sample
  • Extensive traffic
  • 400 GB of bandwidth
  • 300k visitors

Business Plan

Finally, to find out the prices of the Enterprise plan, you need to contact the Webflow sales team. It is for large businesses that need a scalable, sustainable, and secure online presence, and includes 10,000 CMS elements as well as custom amounts of bandwidth and guest editors. In addition to these items and everything in the Business Plan, you'll get:

  • Uncapped users
  • Advanced collaboration tools
  • Workflow tools for development teams
  • Guaranteed SLA (99.9% uptime)
  • Corporate security
  • Access to the customer success team

E-commerce site maps

In addition to its plans for general sites, Webflow offers three e-commerce site plans for people looking to create online stores: Standard, Plus, and Advanced.

Ecommerce Standard

The Ecommerce Standard package costs $29 per month paid annually and $42 per month paid monthly. The online store offers checkouts, shopping carts, and email templates for receipts and order updates, all of which are customizable.

  • Up to 500 e-commerce items
  • Up to 2,000 CMS items
  • 2% transaction fees
  • All the general features of the CMS plan
  • Facebook and Instagram integrations
  • Synchronizing with Google Shopping and Mailchimp
  • The transaction fee for Standard is 2% plus processing fees from Stripe or PayPal. Apple Pay and Web Payments are supported, as is automatic tax calculation. Annual sales volume is capped at $50,000 based on the last 12 months.

Ecommerce Plus

This plan costs $74 per month paid annually and $84 per month paid monthly. It includes everything included in the Standard plan, plus 10 staff accounts, and the ability to remove Webflow references from email footers.

  • 5,000 e-commerce items
  • 10,000 CMS articles
  • 0% transaction fees
  • All Business Plan Features
  • Although this is a very extended version of the Standard plan, the annual sales volume is capped at $200,000, and while transaction fees are reduced to zero, Stripe and PayPal processing fees are maintained.

Ecommerce Advanced

The Ecommerce Advanced plan costs $212 per month paid annually and $235 per month paid monthly. You get all the benefits of the Plus plan and, once again, the limits are raised in a number of areas:

  • 15,000 e-commerce items
  • 10,000 CMS articles
  • 0% transaction fees
  • 15 staff accounts
  • All Business Plan Features

Webflow plans Part 2: Workspace plans

Workspace, or workspace, plans are distinct from site plans - this is a basic service that anyone who wants to create a site through Webflow will need to use, and to which they can then add a site plan, regardless of whether it's e-commerce or not. Workspace plans exist for internal teams as well as freelancers and agencies.

Workspace plans for internal teams

In total, there are four workspace plans for internal teams, all with different user limits and tailored to businesses of varying sizes.

Starter workspace

The Starter Workspace is completely free forever. A single user can work in Starter, and up to two non-hosted websites can be built. Unhosted websites are not available to the public but can be built privately so that users can work on weaknesses in their design. The Workspace Starter includes:

2 pages per site
50 CMS elements per site
2 agency guests/freelancers
2 free commentators
Once the site is ready, it can be hosted with a paid site plan. Once hosted, it will not be taken into account within the limit of two non-hosted sites. Email support is not available for this plan, but a community forum will help answer your questions.

Core workspace

The Core plan costs $19 per month paid annually and $28 per month paid monthly. It's best suited for a very small team, with a ceiling of three users and up to 10 non-hosted demo sites. Billing permissions ensure that only administrators and owners can change subscription or billing information, and the code can now be exported. Additionally, email support is now available during business hours. Some of the main features of this plan include:

  • 3 users maximum
  • Add an unlimited number of paid hosted sites
  • 10 webflow.io test sites
  • 150 pages per site
  • 50 CMS elements per site
  • Custom code
  • Password protection of the site
  • User roles and permissions
  • Content design or editing permissions
  • Exporting code
  • 10 free commentators

Growth Workspace

The Workspace Growth plan costs $49 per month paid annually and $60 per month paid monthly. It supports up to nine users and an unlimited number of non-hosted sites. Publishing permissions are introduced in this plan, allowing administrators to control which teammates can post to which site. The characteristics of Workspace Growth are:

  • Unlimited webflow.io test sites
  • 150 pages per site
  • 50 CMS elements per site
  • Custom code
  • Password protection of the site
  • User roles and permissions
  • Design vs. content editing
  • Publishing permissions
  • Exporting code
  • 2 agency guests/freelancers
  • 10 free commentators

Enterprise Workspace

The Workspace Enterprise plan doesn't have a public price, and you'll need to contact Webflow to get a quote that's right for your business. However, Enterprise plan users get more advanced permissions, a history of site activity, and support from a customer success manager. In addition, Webflow charges for its services rather than billing them by credit card.

  • Uncapped users
  • A ladder ready for business
  • Advanced collaboration and workflow tools
  • Guaranteed service level agreement (SLA)
  • Enterprise-grade security (e.g. SSO)
  • Access to the customer success team

Workspace plans for freelancers and agencies

Tableau de plans workspace pour freelancer et agence

In addition to Workspace plans for internal design and development teams, Webflow offers other plans for freelancers and agencies. Here is an overview of the offer:

Starter plan

Once again, there is a completely free starter plan available, which is good for anyone new to Webflow and just wants to get familiar with the platform. The Starter plan includes:

  • 1 user max
  • 2 test sites on webflow.io domains
  • 2 agencies or freelancers invited
  • 2 free commentators

Freelance Plan

The workspace plan for freelancers costs $16 per month when billed annually and $24 per month when billed monthly. This plan is, as the name suggests, better suited to small teams or individual entrepreneurs, and has only very basic roles and permissions, as well as a 3-user limit. Overall, you will have access to:

  • Up to 3 users as you build your team
  • 10 test sites on webflow.io domains
  • Full access to the CMS on test sites
  • Free access for guests to customer workspaces
  • Basic roles and permissions
  • 10 free commentators

Agency Plan

The Agency plan is available for $35 per month when paying annually or $42 per month when paying monthly. It's the most comprehensive workspace plan available for teams that don't work in-house, and you'll have room for up to nine users. Other features and allowances include:

  • An unlimited number of test sites on webflow.io domains
  • Full access to the CMS on test sites
  • Free access for guests to customer workspaces
  • Advanced roles and permissions
  • 10 free commentators

Does Webflow have a free plan?

Technically, Webflow has a free plan, called the Starter plan. However, you won't be able to host a website with this plan. Instead, a user will be able to design and develop a website, giving them a chance to see what it could look like in action, and what the Webflow designer is capable of doing.

But to host this site on their custom domain name, all users will need to add a paid plan to their site. The cheapest plan is the Basic plan, which only costs $14 per month when paid annually.

If you are interested in Webflow, leaving your site on a Starter plan is the best way to test it, as it doesn't cost a cent and gives you a clear overview of the features offered.

Verdict: Is Webflow worth the price?

Honestly, yes!

Whatever your needs, Webflow will have what you need. Once you are used to how workspace and site plans work, Webflow is a good option for businesses and individuals who need to manage multiple websites, as a developer or site owner, whether for e-commerce or not.

Although Webflow's starting price of $18 per month is not the most attractive, the result is worth the effort, except for e-commerce or solutions that are simpler to manage and more affordable such as Shopify.

That's why it's important to assess your needs before selecting a site or workspace plan.
